JUICE FEASTING, Day 5

*Today’s post is yesterdays news as I am a day ahead of my blog postings.  ie When Day 2 blog is released I am actually going through Day 3 and so on

Before I begin the Juice Feasting program from Joanne Gero, www.vibealive.ca, I must jot down my starting statistics so I can track how my body reacts to the Juice Feasting program.  As with my Training and Nutrition business, everything is about the numbers.

Body Weight: 207.4lbs
Body Fat (scale measurement): 9.9%BF

April 3rd 2010, Day 1

As you can see from the photo I am already rather lean despite what my body fat reading was from the scale measurement.  I am not worried about dropping weight during the next 10 days.  Losing body fat or weight in general is not the goal or purpose for taking part in the Juice Feast.  I can feel that my body is not digesting food properly and in turn has caused me to lose some muscle mass that I once carried.  That being said though, since transitioning to a Raw Vegan lifestyle I have cleared a lot of the mucus from my muscles which has left them looking quite flat and stringy.  Trust me, I know what I look like and if you have known me over the years you know that even though I am not a mass monster I was definitely bigger than I am today.

My main focus over the next ten days is to give my body a major reset, to cleanse and detox from within while re-energizing my cells and tissues.  The Juice Feast program is just the start of my body revolution as the period that follows will be just as important and that is where you will see the greatest change in my body on the outside.  I will be able to digest and use the nutrients I put into my body much more efficiently allowing me to increase mass, strength and performance.

DAY 5

Morning routine as outlined in Day 1 entry consisting of sipping on 24 ounces of  fresh lemon juice and water while I write in my journal.

I was able to sleep in a bit today, which is unusual as my internal clock is set to wake up at 4:30am .  When I awoke I did a gentler yoga as my back was stiff from either sleeping or the massage and chiro visit I had yesterday.

THE STOOL CORNER
I had a bowel movement right away this morning which makes me happy.  It was rather red but I am 99% positive it was from the beet juice I have been drinking.

I was finally able to play with my Fun Bag this morning.  Yup, enema time.  Wow!!!  To keep this rather clean I will just say that I went through about 5 cycles and could see it was working to get things moving.  After the fifth cycle I was getting nothing but clear water so I figured I was finished.  I tidied up the bathroom and then hopped into the shower for my Hydrotherapy session.  I was into the second round when all of a sudden it hit, I had to get to the toilet as fast as possible.  Let’s just say, the enema experience was a success and I was able to say good bye to a ton of plaque!

I met with an equipment supplier (Foremost Fitness) to get quotes for the facility I am working on designing.  The fun part of this is the type of equipment that I am purchasing is not the typical or traditional Big Box gym equipment.  All functional baby and it’s for Nate’s Playground!  I am really looking forward to posting  my fitness videos from this new facility once I am in there and helping to rejuvenate people’s fitness regimes.

I am a bit bummed as I had to miss karate Wednesday evening but it wasn’t because I didn’t have the energy.  The timing of my meeting at Foremost Fitness, sending off articles and preparing for Thursday mornings Harlequin Romance cover shoot left me no choice but to skip it this week.  Too bad though, as I am preparing to test for my Black Belt but I needed to man scape and add some colour to this white body of mine and get to bed a decent hour.

Overall, at this point I am feeling about a 9 out of 10, 10 being fantastic.  I had a short period of about an hour late in the afternoon where I felt very tired but I stepped outside for a few deep breaths and I was good to go.  It also helped that I was busy running around the city getting things done and furthering my careers.

Tonight, I am going to sleep with my window open and try to get some fresh oxygen in my lungs to help detoxify my body.  Joanne has been pushing us since day 1 to get outside as oxygen plays a large part in the detoxification process and it is also a main food the body thrives on.

3 days down, 7 to go!
