TURNING OVER A NEW LEAF AND EATING IT. My transition to a Plant Based Whole Food Nutrition plan. Part 4

Part 4

It has been a while since my last installment of this series but I hope you will understand why once you have read the entire segment.  I can honestly say that I am having the time of my life with regards to food.  I have sampled foods I never thought I would try and have changed my mind about the foods I thought I would never eat again.  For example I used to turn a cheek at Grapefruit and now it is a staple of mine every morning.  Broccoli was something I ate because I knew it was good for me but now I have come to enjoy it.  Egg Plant, zucchini, cauliflower, papaya among many other fruits and vegetables have found their way on to my plate and into my tummy.

I have been able to achieve so much in mind, body & spirit over the past half year after having switched from a hardcore meat eating approach, to the other end of the spectrum, a raw vegan super charged plant eater.  The best part of all this is that I am just as successful, if not more so than before, at least on paper.  However, now that I am so much more in tune with  my body I have been feeling as if I am on a roller coaster of emotions and energy.

I have to first state that I know that I have gone leaps and bounds in regards to cleansing my body and allowing it to function at a higher level than ever before but something is still not right.  In the last few weeks I have been having uncontrollable food cravings and a tough time focusing on projects as well as feeling happy about myself with everything I have accomplished.  My physique has also suffered a little bit as I feel I have lost some size and strength.  After having wrote an article for the WBFF Fit & Firm magazine (http://fitandfirmmag.com/ Issue #2, pg 92-95) about “Thriving as a Raw Vegan Athlete” and bragging about how great I felt and performed, a month later and a few pounds lighter I realized this transition is still taking place and will require the help of a professional.

Enter Joanne Gero, Founder & Creator of Vibe Alive (http://www.vibealive.ca).  Joanne is a Naturopath N.D. and a Holistic Health & Nutrition Consultant among many other things and I have been very fortunate to have befriended Joanne in the last few months as her knowledge and motivation is endless.

On April 3rd I am embarking on Joanne’s 10 day Juice Feasting program to give my body a master “RESET.”  I will blog a few times http://www.health-canada-pharmacy.com throughout this 10 day experience  to give updates on how I am feeling in order to “bring my state of health, mind and body to the next level” and heal my body from the inside out.  For more information about Joanne’s 10 day Juice Feasting program and the many other services, e-books and loads of videos and recipes visit

To give you an idea of what I was eating that initially that gave me a few months of clarity I have supplied an example of my daily routine up to this point.  This is about to change yet again but if you have been  following all the previous segments of TURNING OVER A NEW LEAF AND EATING IT, you can expect change as I continue on in my journey for achieving ultimate health and well being.   I ask you to join me in the next 10 days as I write about my complete “RESET” and how after the program is complete I plan on creating the change I need in my daily nutrition and lifestyle to achieve everything I ever wanted and to do it with balance.
